Reflections on "The Harry Brorby Project"
This class has been a very unique opportunity for a student in undergraduate school. It is a rare instance when undergraduate college students are exposed to this kind of research, especially when they are allowed to participate in the archiving themselves. It was a fascinating process to watch the class material unfold before our eyes. The class revolved around information that was, for the most part, unknown until we retrieved it ourselves. This enigmatic attribute of the class was very exciting, even if it was strenuous at times. There was a lot of factors concerning the nature of the course that we simply could not be prepared for, and this caused some setbacks with research and group projects. These unexpected complications were inevitable, and should be expected when conducting research of this sort; especially when it has never been done before. From the moment that I heard about and enrolled in The Harry Brorby Project class, I believed that it would be a monumental marker in my college career and my development as an artist, and the course has certainly lived up to these expectations. I look forward to continuing with the Harry Brorby journey in the future.
